Jaipur to Udaipur on a single charge stop: a route that works
Roughly 400 km on NH-48 with one planned stop at Ajmer. Timings, tariffs and where to actually eat while the car fills.
Jaipur to Udaipur is about 395 km of good highway. On a car with 300 km of usable real-world range, that is one charging stop — not three, and not a day of anxiety.
The plan
Leave Jaipur at 85% or better. Our Tonk Road hub is the easiest place to top up on the way out, and at 180 kW you are done in the time it takes to finish a coffee.
Drive 135 km to the Kishangarh bypass site on NH-48. This is the natural break: it sits just past the Ajmer turn-off, it is open through the night, and there is a proper restaurant rather than a vending machine.
Charge from roughly 45% to 85%. On a 180 kW bay with a modern CCS2 car that is around eighteen minutes. Eat, and leave with 260 km of range for a 260 km run.
What it costs
Two stops, roughly 55 kWh total, at highway tariffs of ₹19 to ₹20.50 per unit. Call it ₹1,200 including tax for the whole drive. The same trip in a petrol sedan is around ₹3,400 at current pump prices.
The margin you should keep
Plan to arrive at any charging stop with at least 15% left. Highway detours, headwinds and air conditioning in a Rajasthan summer all eat range faster than the dashboard estimate suggests. Fifteen percent is roughly 45 km of slack, which is enough to reach an alternative site if a bay is occupied.
Timing it
Leaving Jaipur at 6 AM puts you in Udaipur before noon, including the stop. Leaving at 9 AM puts you on the Kishangarh bypass at peak occupancy — check the map before you commit, and shift to the Ajmer Ana Sagar site if the queue looks long.
Worth the detour
If you have an hour spare, Pushkar is a 12 km diversion from Ajmer. Charge at Ana Sagar instead of the bypass, walk the ghats, and rejoin NH-48 with a full battery.
